Shillong, Aug 19: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Pynursla Civil Sub-Division informed today that closure timing of the road between Laitlyngkot and Lyngkyrdem (Chainage Kms 24+00 – 37+00) will remain in force with slight modification in the timings.
The closure will now be enforced from 12 noon to 4 pm and 9 pm to 4 am.
The present closure arrangement will be temporary and on a daily basis for a period effective from August 20 to August 31, 2025.
“Subject to review and prevailing requirements, a subsequent notice shall be issued with restrictive timings that will be more shortened and relaxed for commuters,” the SDO said.
All commuters and members of the public are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution while commuting through this stretch and to avoid taking non— essential travel during or immediately after heavy rainfall and also during night-time.
