The Chief Executive Officer of the Shillong Municipal Board has informed once again all residents within the Shillong Municipal Area to register their pet dogs with the SMB and to obtain tags on payment of a Rs 250 fee.
All pet owners are also to ensure that their dogs do not occupy public places or roads. Dogs found without tags will be treated as strays and action will be taken according to the Municipal Act, a release said today.
