Justice Ranjit Vasantrao More has been appointed chief justice of the Meghalaya High Court.
According to a list published by the Department of Justice in the Law Ministry today, Biswanath Somadder, incumbent Chief Justice of Meghalaya, has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court.
Born in 1959, Justice More did his law graduation from the Shivaji University, and subsequently got his masters degree from the Mumbai University.
He was enrolled as an advocate in September 1983 as a junior advocate to AP Shah, who later became the Chief Justice of the High Courts of Madras and Delhi.
Justice More’s areas of practice covered civil, criminal and Constitutional matters.
