The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has emphasised that disregarding the influence of politics on the religious domain contradicts the inherent interconnectedness of various facets of people’s lives, as dictated by natural law.
Highlighting the undeniable interconnectedness of politics, society, religion, and economy, VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh asserted, “It’s widely acknowledged that these realms are intertwined, each impacting the others. When politics succumbs to corruption, it inevitably taints and corrupts other spheres of life.”
Myrboh further pointed out the significant role of money power in State politics and the entrenched corruption within governance processes.
He stressed, “Ignoring the impact of politics on religion goes against the fundamental principle of how these different aspects interact within society.”
“It’s not surprising that there’s discussion among the populace about how politics’ negative influences extend even to religious leaders,” he added.
Regarding allegations from other political parties accusing the VPP of disparaging the Church’s image, Myrboh said that if such accusations were true, it would be regrettable.
Myrboh also criticised those who accuse the VPP of tarnishing religious leaders, suggesting they lack comprehension of how society, politics, and economy are interconnected.
He underscored the VPP’s understanding of politics’ broader influence on various aspects of life beyond just the political realm and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to improving political practices.
