A meeting of all political parties will be held at the State secretariat here tomorrow to discuss the job roster system.
The State government has already sent invites to leaders of all parties, both from the ruling MDA and the opposition, to attend the meeting.
However, the government has mentioned that the agenda of the meeting would be only the roster system.
During tomorrow’s meeting, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma would give a presentation on the roster system and how it would not affect any community in the State.
Sangma had yesterday said that once the presentation is given, “everybody would be fully satisfied”.
Meanwhile, thousands of people are expected at the gathering called by the Voice of the People Party (VPP) tomorrow afternoon at the Additional Secretariat parking lot here.
The VPP called the gathering to enable the people to know the decision taken at the all-parties meeting.
Today, appeals were made by the party via loud speakers in Mawlai, Jaiaw, Mawkhar and other areas urging people to attend the gathering.
It may be mentioned that the VPP has demanded immediate suspension of all recruitments in the State government till the anomalies in the job reservation policy are rectified based on the population structure.
The party has also warned to intensify its campaign for review of the quota policy and roster system.
Sources also said that the district administration has decided to deploy adequate security all over the city including at the venue of the VPP gathering to thwart any attempt to create disorder.
