“Technical errors” have forced the Meghalaya Police to cancel the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and new dates have been announced for the test, which is part of the recruitment process to join the police service.
What the technical errors entailed was not spelled out in the notice issued by Inspector General of Police, Dalton P Mara, who is also the Chairman of the Central Recruitment Board (CRB).
However, he did say that the technical errors were encountered during the PET conducted at the 1st MLP Battalion in Mawiong and 4th Battalion in Sohpian.
Fresh PETs will be conducted for all candidates, including for those candidates who appeared in the PET conducted from November 18 at Mawiong and Sohpian.
The revised dates are December 13-20 for the 3rd Battalion at Sahbsein, Jowai; January 6-11 for the 5th Battalion in Samanda, Williamnagar, and 4th Battalion in Sohpian; January 13-February 15 for the 1st Battalion in Mawiong and 2nd Battalion in Goeragre, Tura.
