UDP leader and cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh said that he was not keen to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Shillong seat.
Speaking to media persons here today, Lyngdoh said that he is a member of the State Assembly and had just made it back to cabinet after a long gap with portfolios which are all “very important, strategic and very relevant to the growth of Meghalaya”.
“Also I still continue to be a member of the district council so I can’t obviously be MLA, MDC and MP at the same time. So these are very cumbersome responsibilities that I’m tasked with,” Lyngdoh said.
“I believe in the sharing of responsibility and in collective leadership so the more leaders we are able to produce and able to empower the better will be for the State,” he added.
