A passenger waiting shed for residents of Sohlaitrim village in Ri Bhoi district was inaugurated today by Umsning MDC Macdalyne S. Mawlong.
The shed was constructed under the special assistance scheme of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council at the estimated amount of Rs. 1 lakh for the year 2018-2019.
Sawkmie said the passenger shed was constructed in the interest of public convenience to provide some shelter during rain and from the scorching sun.
The inauguration was also attended by rangbah shnong Shngain Kupar Syngkli, NPP Umsning women’s wing president Kyntiew Nongsiej and the residents of the village.
