Over 500 NCC cadets from different parts of the country are taking part in the ‘NCC All India Trekking Expedition’ which was flagged off today from the NEHU campus here.
The aim of the expedition is to foster national integration with spirit of adventure. Cadets from Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Tripura including Meghalaya are attending the seven day expedition.
The cadets will trek to Shillong Peak, Smit Cultural Centre, Sweet Falls towards the scenic country side of Shillong and visit war museums and heritage buildings in the city to get an insight of the rich culture and traditions of Meghalaya.
Additional Director General NCC Maj Gen Gagan Deep flagged off the expedition in the presence of NEHU Registrar S K Dixit.
