The State government’s initiative to build a framework of encouraging and attracting serious youth into taking the UPSC Civil Services has had a very little impact considering the percentage of success for the prestigious IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS, allied services etc among our youth.
The tedious preparation required and understanding on how to compete against many on the same level playing field is what many are not aware of.
However, another option that the State government can take is to avail the help of the local military establishment to conduct coaching for the NDA, CDS, SSB etc and various other defence services.
There is a lot of lack of awareness about these services among many of our youth especially those who are appearing or have passed their academic exams.
It will be in the best interest of our youth if the State government and the PRO Defence office take this as a pilot initiative.
