To address the issue of child trafficking, a special meeting cum-training session was held for officials, traditional heads, religious leaders, school principals, children home cares, teachers of West Khasi Hills district yesterday.
The event aimed to enhance awareness and preparedness among stakeholders to effectively combat this heinous crime.
The programme titled, “Combating Child Trafficking 2.0” in 100 bordering and adjoining district of India, was organized by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) and the district administration.
The programme featured an elaborate power point presentation on different aspects of combating child trafficking by SDPO of Mawshynrut, JW Suting.
The session covered topics such as the Child Protection Act, Child Labour laws, Children education right, POCSO Act etc, which was followed by an interactive session between officials and participating stake holders.
