An officer who heads the Tourist Information Centre in East Jaiñtia Hills district was found absent from work for one year.
This was stated by the Jaiñtia National Council (JNC), Khliehriat circle who visited the office today.
According to the organisation, no staff was present at the office even as its door remained opened.
Circle general secretary, Mebanteilang Sukhlain said the department concern should seek explanation from the officer concerned take strict action.
He said tourism related works have suffered owing to irregular or absent employee.
