The National People Women Front (NPWF) celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday to honour women for their vital roles as caregivers and nurturers, both with families and communities.
The celebration was held in three blocks in the Khasi-Jaintia region which was attended by National People’s Party (NPP) women leaders.
KHADC MDC Rona Khymdeit attended the celebration in Nongpoh while MDC Grace Mary Kharpuri graced the occasion in Pynursla block and JHADC MDC Violet Lyngdoh in Jowai.
Hundreds of women were also honoured for their contribution across various social and community initiatives.
