The National People’s Party (NPP) today released its second list of seven candidates for the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) polls.
Former MLA Samlin Malngiang to contest from Sohiong and Amanda Annete Pakyntein, wife of Mawkynrew MLA Banteidor Lyngdoh are among those picked by the NPP.
Other candidates are Sitting MDCs from Jirang constituency Sosthenes Sohtun, Elias Kharbihkhiew (Sohryngkham), Kordor L. Nongkynrih (Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah), Sharailang Warjri (Mawthadraishan) and Joplin Sten (Mawhati).
So far the NPP has declared a total number of 25 candidates for the KHADC while another 26 candidates for the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council.
Both the district councils go to polls on February 21 and counting will be held on February 24.
