The largesse of the state government at the moment is solely driven by a desire to attract votes and is not focused on the genuine interests of the people, KHNAM leader Thomas Passah has told Highland Post.
Parties in power are misusing the authority of being in government to gain influence during the election while bigger parties that are not in power are using other strategies to dupe voters.
“You are talking about farmer schemes but why are these schemes going only to constituencies of MLAs in the government?” Passah asked? “Why are they not being channelised through Deputy Commissioners and block offices?”
Stating that the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government has totally failed in the last five years, he said, “Now that the term has come to an end all the coalition partners in the MDA have started pointing fingers at one another and are desperate to win the election with no truthful motive to serve the state.”
