Meghalaya is now connected by air with Arunachal Pradesh, with Alliance Air operating a twice weekly service between Umroi and Pasighat, the Transport Department announced in a press release today.
Flights connect the two states on Tuesdays and Thursdays utilising ATR 72 turboprop aircraft and take a little more than an hour between the two airports. Alliance Air is a central government owned company and the route is subsidised under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN).
The route has been active since October 29 but has not been promoted all that much.
