New containment orders have been issued by the District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The house of S Mawthoh, behind Himar Complex, Howell Road, Laban; the top floor of the house of Biju Paul, Rilbong Burnside, near Sankardev Women’s Hostel; the top floor of the building of Sandy Marbaniang, Oxford Hills Church of Jesus Christ Church, near Oxford Community Hall; the house of the late Minati Chakraborty, Laban Last Stop; Flat B2 of Sutnga Apartments, Streamlet Road, Laban; the house of R Paul in the compound of the late K Majaw, Madan Laban (Rum), the house of Raymond J Nongrum, Child Friendly School, Lawsohtun Block 5, the compound of Iakmenlang Khyriem and Sngewbhalang Khyriem at Nongkhyriem Block 4, Nongthymmai; and the house of Siantimon Diengdoh at Lawjynriew Lumkut have all been declared as containment zones.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate has lifted containment form the Pavitra Joshi compound, Lower Mawprem; the house of Persara Lyngdoh, Jaiaw Lumbatemon; the house of Oklin Kharbhih, Phaitimai Kharbhih, Mitimai Kharbhih, Lilin Kharbhih, Bibiana Kharkrang, Koshon Sohlang and Jopkupar Kharbhih in Lumsohriew village under Mawphlang block; the campus of Ramakrishna Mission, Sohra; the house of the late Robin Laloo, Block 2, Upper Lachumiere; Eee Cee Bakery and servants’ dormitory, Hopkinson Road, Lower Lachumiere; the house of Roipar Khongain at Lower Mawprem; and Suleiman Compound at Lumdiengjri. However, the houses of Roshan Ali, Altaf Hussain, Asmad Alam and Zalim Alam are still retained as containment areas.
