A Rs 3 crore building to house offices of the Selsella block looks more like an Assam type house rather than a modern RCC construction, three pressure groups have said in a letter to the Selsella Block Development Officer.
In a joint letter, the three pressure groups say that they carried out an inspection of the building and found that “it is evident that the quality and specifications of the building do not align with the sanctioned amount.”
The figure of Rs 3 crore was provided through a Right to Information (RTI) request, they said.
“We believe that the sanctioned amount was intended for the construction of a Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) building but the current construction appears to resemble an Assam type building, which raises questions about the allocation and utilisation of funds,” the letter stated. “In light of this discrepancy, we kindly request you to provide us with a detailed breakdown of the material expenses incurred for the construction of the new block building. We seek transparency and accountability in this matter to ensure that public funds are utilized appropriately and in accordance with the sanctioned project specifications.”
