The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) has expressed grave concern over the continuing troubles in Manipur and will hold demonstrations on November 9 across the region.
In a press release today, NESO chairman Samuel Jyrwa said that almost six months have passed but the situation has not returned to any semblance of normalcy and this can be attributed to the abject failure on the part of the central government to address the situation in an efficient manner. He added that the Centre has turned a blind eye to the issue when what is required is the consideration of the views and opinions of all concerned stakeholders.
“As such, NESO in its executive council meeting held on October 31, 2023 in Guwahati has resolved to stage a demonstration in all the respective state capitals of the North East on November 9, 2023,” he informed.
