Shillong, May 20: The Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory of North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong has been awarded accreditation by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
The accreditation has been granted for a period of four years and will remain valid up to the year 2030. This recognition reflects the NEIGRIHMS’ adherence to stringent national standards in clinical testing, accuracy, reliability, and laboratory management systems, a press release from the hospital said today. The recognition is expected to further enhance public confidence in the NEIGRIHMS’ diagnostic services and encourage continued advancement in healthcare delivery.
NEIGRIHMS Director Prof Nalin Mehta congratulated the Department of Biochemistry for achieving this recognition. He further added that this accreditation reflects the collective efforts of faculty, residents and administrative teams in establishing robust quality systems and ensuring safe, patient-centred care.
NEIGRIHMS has already achieved NABL accreditation for the Department of Pathology and this achievement adds another feather in its cap.
