North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has invited President Droupadi Murmu to inaugurate its NEICOD building housed at its permanent campus.
NEHU vice chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla met the President, who is also the Visitor of the university, on September 7 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
A press statement from the university today said that the vice chancellor in his meeting with Murmu congratulated her on being appointed as the President on behalf of the staff, students, teachers and the entire University fraternity.
He also briefed her about the works carried out in the last one year in the university including the agreements signed with different universities, research institutes and industries both nationally and internationally.
Shukla told her about the centres and offices opened in the universities in the last one year like Office of the International Affairs, MOOCs Centre, Design Innovation Centre, Office of Intellectual Property Rights and recently opened Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Excellence which provides free coaching to UPSC aspirants belonging to SC category, the statement said.
