The Registered Trade Union of NEEPCO (RTUN), Corporate Office, Shillong and Projects across North East celebrated International Labour Day, dedicate to recognising the contributions of a cross section of workers in the corporation over a period of time.
The members of the union paid tributes to the departed soul who has contributed immensely for the growth of the corporation.
The union said different activities have been undertaken in different projects of NEEPCO and a memorandum to the management on various issues of the employees which needs to be resolved for the greater interest of workers.
Pointing out that it is the responsibility of the management to protect workers’ rights and ensure fair and equal opportunities for all the union said it is also committed to protect the interest of the corporation as well as its large workforce in the lower level.
“We actively work to ensure that employees and workers have a voice, treated with respect, and genuine issues are resolved,” the union added.
