The organising committee of the 2nd North East Olympic Games 2022 felicitated the volunteers at a ceremony here today.
The event was held to acknowledge the hard work put in by the volunteers and to provide them a platform to share their experiences of the Games.
The chief guest of the event was the Joint CEO of the Games, Shivansh Awasthi, who congratulated the group on their efforts.
“There were many instances where volunteers performed beyond our expectations. For example, in a situation where a fire broke out in an athlete accommodation, it was the volunteers that first responded and helped. Their professionalism and diligence through the Games is something that must be commended,” he said.
A few volunteers were also asked to share experiences today. Each committee’s volunteers had representatives felicitated on stage. Each volunteer was given a certificate and a cheque for their stipend.
