The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority today organized the National Lok Adalat in 11 districts of Meghalaya, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee under the supervision of Justice HS Thangkhiew.
In the National Lok Adalat, 639 pre-litigation cases and 454 pending cases were taken up for settlement. The total number of cases taken up was 1,093 of which 190, amounting to more than Rs 62.78 lakh, was settled in the National Lok Adalat.
