Leader of the opposition Dr Mukul Sangma acts like a dictator and was completely hypocritical over the Inner Line Permit (ILP) issue, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said today.
Tynsong was part of the Dr Sangma-led Congress government until resigning from the party just before the 2018 election in favour of the NPP.
Tynsong said that Dr Sangma, who was the Chief Minister prior to 2018, was strongly against the implementation of ILP but now he is singing a different tune.
“I am surprised because he is the LO (leader of the opposition). Ask Dr Mukul what is wrong with him then and now,” Tynsong said, adding that the people of the state have not seen the true colours of his ex-boss.
Asked how he is able to justify his stand since he was also part of the government then, Tynsong said that it was for this very reason that he left the Congress.
“Several times Dr Mukul said in cabinet meetings that we don’t need ILP. I came out from Congress because of Dr Mukul. He was a dictator and we didn’t have the opportunity to voice our opinion,” Tynsong said.
