In an attempt to address the pressing issue of limited seats in higher education institutions, Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) yesterday announced the launch of new undergraduate and diploma programmes.
MLCU Registrar Iadonlang Tynsong stated that the new programmes are designed to respond to the changing educational landscape and the needs of young students aspiring for quality higher education and strong career prospects.
“With over 80 per cent pass percentage in the recent Class 10 and 12 examinations, we are seeing a surge of capable and enthusiastic students eager to pursue higher studies. However, many students may struggle to secure admission into established higher education institutions due to limited seats,” Tynsong said at a press conference.
The new programmes include BCom, BA in English with Smart Media and Multisensory Cultural Expression, BA in Political Science, Sociology and Economics, Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports, Bachelor of Visual Arts, BSc in Nutrition, Food and Wellness and BSc in Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Development.
In addition, MLCU is also introducing a five-year integrated undergraduate programme consisting of a two-year diploma followed by three-year undergraduate degree with an option to pursue a four-year honours track. The university is also offering a 50 per cent fee discount for the first batch of admissions on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We hope this gesture makes higher education more reachable and encourages students to take the right steps toward their future,” Tynsong added.
