Shillong, Apr 16: Meghalaya has sent a contingent for the badminton U-17 boys and girls categories at the 69th National School Games 2025-26, which will be held from April 16 to 22 in New Delhi.
The state team comprises eight promising young shuttlers who were selected after rigorous trials conducted by the state government’s Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.
The boys’ team comprises Karlsten Diengdoh (St Edmund’s School), Enrique Syiem (Alpha English Higher Secondary School), Gavin Kharbuki (St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School) and Haegan J Diengdoh (St Edmund’s School).
The girls’ team consists of Netania T Tariang (Shillong College), Inriti Nongtraw (Loreto Convent), Deiphisha Dohling (Shillong College) and Josie Hadem (Pine Mount School).
Two officials have accompanied the state team – Eranecles Syiem and Aibanker Kharbithai.
The National School Games, organised under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India, is a premier platform for school-level athletes to showcase their talent at the national level.
