The Meghalaya High Court organised a one-day programme on, ‘Judiciary and the Media, Local and Customary Laws under the Sixth Schedule in Meghalaya’ today at its auditorium.
Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Surya Kant graced the occasion as the chief guest and spoke on “Optimizing Court Appearance: Harmonizing Physical, Virtual and Hybrid Mode with Live Streaming Restrictions.”
Former Lokpal and former Judge of the Supreme Court of India Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose attended as the guest of honour.
Justice I.P. Mukerji, Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya; Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, High Court for the State of Telangana; Justice H.S. Thangkhiew, and Justice W. Diengdoh, Judges of the High Court of Meghalaya were present at the event.
The programme fostered meaningful dialogue on the evolving relationship between the judiciary, media, and the unique legal traditions under the Sixth Schedule in Meghalaya.
