Shillong, Jul 29: The Meghalaya government has directed that no felicitation of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, Ministers or other state dignitaries will be organised at any state government programme henceforth.
In an order issued by Personnel & A.R.(A) Department Secretary Isawanda Laloo, the government said the only exception will be when a Union Minister or foreign dignitary attends a state function.
“Henceforth, all administrative departments may instead felicitate two or three representatives from the public at such programmes and if deemed fit, they may be given an opportunity to speak briefly for a few minutes during the function,” the order said.
