The Chief Electoral Officer of Meghalaya, BDR Tiwari, inspected the strong room where voting machines will be stored during the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Meghalaya goes to the polls on April 19 but the votes will only be counted on June 4 after the rest of the country has cast their vote.
Tiwari inspected the Polo site with the District Election Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Engineer in the Public Works Department.
Tiwari instructed the latter to expedite repairs to the strong room with all safety measures.
The CEO also reviewed the arrangement for the Dispatch and Receiving Centre, Countin Centre and polling personnel welfare measures.
