The Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives Union (CRU), Shillong celebrated its golden jubilee yesterday at Asom Kristi Kendra Auditorium, Dhankheti here.
Meghalaya Joint Committee of Trade Unions and Associations (MJCTUA) president J L Das was the chief guest at the celebration. Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) president Naba Bhattacharjee and Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) president Peter Mcdonald Kharsawian were the guests of honour. Dr. B R Medi, Dr. D Byrsat and Dr. D K Nongbri were the special guests.
The programme was also attended by Elgiva G. Rynjah, Ananga Paul, Debopriyo Deb, Bidhan Bhattacharjee, Rithuraj Talukdar, Jemino Mawthoh, Bikash Chakraborty, Sagarmoy Choudhary and Jona Goswami.
The programme began with the singing of the national anthem followed by a welcome address, prize distribution and cultural programme.
Kinfolk of Shillong, Biswajit Das & Group, Tilotama Ghosh, Bishal Paul, Shubam Dey, Tapash Das and Wandarisa Kharkongor performed in the celebration. Lastly the programme was ended with a vote of thanks by CRU Shillong unit secretary Supriyo Dhar.
