Chief Minister and NPP national president Conrad Sangma today said that the coalition partners in the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) have pledged their support to the government till the end of the term.
Sangma said that the MDA partners are working together even as he added that he has spoken to them and everybody is on board.
“Yes there could be certain individuals who would make their comments and express their concern which is fine in democracy,” he said.
It may be mentioned that the UDP recently held a meeting to assess their humiliating performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
During the meeting, many party leaders had suggested that the main reason for the UDP’s poor performance is because of its alliance with the NPP.
Some party leaders had even suggested that the UDP withdraw support to the MDA government and rebuild the party.
The UDP has 12 MLAs, and two of them Paul Lyngdoh and Kyrmen Shylla are part of the cabinet.
