The Ri-Bhoi Christmas Committee officially inaugurated the Christmas and New Year’s decorations here yesterday.
The festive decorations were inaugurated by local MLA Mayralborn Syiem. Also present were Additional Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi MB Tongper, Ri-Bhoi Christmas Committee members, other distinguished guests and members of the public.
The nativity scene, unveiled by Syiem, has been beautifully illuminated this year. The event also featured Christmas carols and a few speeches by various speakers who noted that the decorations are part of the welcome that visitors to Meghalaya will get as Nongpoh is the gateway to the state.
