Catholic faithful of Nongstoiñ Diocese consisting of only the first batch from the parishes of Pyndengrei, Nonbah, Mawkhlam, Mawlyndep, Riangdo, Rambrai, Markasa and Rangblang will hold a peace rally at Nongstoin on July 4.
This is a per a call given by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI), North East Regional Bishops’ Conference and in solidarity with the National level Catholic Organisations all over India to hold peace rallies to end the prolonged mayhem in Manipur.
The rally which will begin at 1 pm will be attended by nearly 15,000 faithful will be led by the Catholic lay leaders and will start from Nongstoiñ Indoor Stadium and culminate at New Nongstoiñ Football Playground. Those who will address the rally will include the President of the Catholic Youth Federation, the President of the Catholic Women Federation, the President of the Catholic Men Federation and the Bishop of Nongstoiñ Diocese, Rt.Rev.Wilbert Marwein who will also conclude the rally with a benediction.
According to organisers of the rally another mass rally of various Christian denominations will be held at later date at Nongstoiñ after finalisation by Christian church leaders of the district.
