Shillong, Sep 17 : The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday arrested a Bangladeshi man and recovered fake Indian currency worth Rs 96,000 meant to be smuggled from the international border.
A statement from the BSF said that the person has been identified as Badal alias Ramjan (66) of Barik Tilla village under Sunamganj district in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, BSF troops deployed in West Jaiñtia Hills apprehended two persons and seized a pick-up truck loaded with dry peas worth more than Rs 8 lakh.
All seized items along with apprehended over to Meghalaya police for further legal action, the BSF said.
