The State Mahila Congress today met former Chief Minister, DD Lapang urging him to return to the party fold.
Members of the Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress led by president, Joplin S Shylla met the veteran political warhorse and said they greatly desire his return to the Congress.
The district Mahila Congress from East Jaiñtia Hills, Ri Bhoi District, West Khasi Hills Congress Committee, South West Khasi Hills Congress and West Jaiñtia Mahila Congress were part of the delegation to meet Lapang.
Last week, the Ri-Bhoi Congress Committee had expressed the same desire through a press release.
Lapang had quit the Congress party on September 14, 2018 and threw his considerable weight behind the National People’s Party.
