Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister Alexander Laloo Hek has pushed the central government for a feed mill in Meghalaya to help bring costs down.
Hek had made a recent representation in Bhubaneswar in the presence of central government officials and ministers where he emphasised the need for a feed mill.
Currently, Meghalaya farmers are dependent on feed from other states, which pushes up prices here at home.
“If we have our own feed mill we can supply it (animal feed) to our farmers at a subsidised rate that will benefit the farmers of the state,” Hek said.
