A Meghalaya State Stakeholders Consultation Meet will be held on September 17 at the auditorium of College of PG Studies in Agricultural Sciences, Umiam to discuss the agroecological strategies for the State.
The consultative meeting will focus on how agroecology based farming practices can transform food systems and improve the overall livelihood of the farmers.
Participants at the meeting will include experts from various international and national research institutions directly working for farming communities, scientists, forest officials, food processing departments, industry, Farmer’s Producers Companies (FPC), agripreneurs and progressive farmers etc.
A range of topics will be discussed on natural resource management, biodiversity prospective (agro and soil), agro-ecological principles in Jhum farming and industrial linkages.
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister Alexander L. Hek and Imphal’s Central Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Dr. Anupam Mishra will grace the occasion.
