Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today said that power cuts in the State were needed because of the power shortage. He however said that all efforts will be taken to minimise the inconvenience to the citizens.
“We will see that there will be some power regulation, but we are trying to minimise it. The inconvenience to the public is minimal and we try to do it in such a manner so that certain areas are not affected at certain times of the day,” Sangma told media persons.
He also said that this year has been slightly better for the State in terms of power supply as the power cuts have not been there in the months of February and March.
“Normally we see power cuts happening as early as March and sometimes even in late February. So this year compared to the past years, there has been slight improvement and that’s because of the different management that the government has done with the power in these last two years,” Sangma said.
