JUD Cements, based in Thangksai, Wahiajer Narpuh, has had its electricity cut off by the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (MePDCL) for defaulting on its electricity bills for months.
According to a MePDCL circular, the company had dues outstanding of Rs 18.72 crore as on October 6.
The company is a repeat offender, having been pulled up by the power corporation before for non-payment of dues.
JUD Cements had recently lost a court case over its default. The court had directed it to pay the full amount owed to the MePDCL.
