The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ri-Bhoi held a training cum input distribution programme today on “Scientific Pig Farming with improved breeds” for farmers of the district.
The programme was organized at Division of Animal and Fishery Sciences pig farm where farmers from five villages participated.
The programme was attended by Dr. M. Mokidul Islam, Principal Scientist and Head, ICAR-KVK Ri-Bhoi, Dr. S. Deori, Senior Scientist, Division of Animal and Fishery Sciences, ICAR Umiam, Dr. M. S. Baruah, Subject Matter Specialist, Animal Science, B. Mukhim, Subject Matter Specialist, Fishery Science and Dr. G. Khargharia, Veterinary Officer who shared their knowledge and experiences to the farmers.
Later 15 Lumsniang pig breed developed by ICAR, Umiam were distributed to the farmers.
