The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) South Garo Hills, Meghalaya (CAU-I) under ATARI-Zone-VII celebrated the Golden Jubilee along with 45 farmers at its campus in Chokpot today
Principal Scientist & Head Dr. Athokpam Haribhushan, highlighted about the mandate and activities of KVK in India since its establishment in 1974 at Puducherry and other centrally sponsored schemes.
He also stated that the initiative, which was first announced several years ago, has gained renewed focus and momentum in recent times. The initiative to double farmer income also recognizes the importance of market reforms and liberalization to ensure fair prices and better market access for farmers.
Nodal Officer, DFI & Subject Matter Specialist (Livestock Production) Dr. Rupam Bhattacharjya highlighted about the implementation of the project and objective of doubling farmers income.
As part of the programme, farmers were felicitated with distribution of certificates to DFI fellow farmers.
