The Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC) has submitted a series of suggestions for a transparent conduct of the ongoing District Selection Committee (DSC) examination in South Garo Hills.
The submission was made to Deputy Commissioner Sumit Kumar Singh by the organisation, stating it is part of their continued efforts to advocate for the rights and interests of the Garo community.
The GSMC highlighted specific areas where improvements could be made, including the need for clear guidelines, regular audits, and the involvement of independent observers to oversee the selection process. The organisations said it believes that these measures will help restore confidence in the system and ensure that the selection process is conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
GSMC co-chairman Jakrak A Sangma and general secretary Tony Tojrang B Marak raised concerns regarding the fairness and integrity of the selection process, emphasising the need for transparency and accountability.
The leaders have called for the implementation of measures that would prevent any potential misuse of the reservation policy and ensure that deserving candidates from the Garo community are given equal opportunities.
