Senior citizens, waheh shnongs and pressure groups in Jowai today came out together and constituted a committee to demand setting up of a national law school.
The committee called, ‘National Law School, Demand Committee’ has also approved all members of the Society for the Study of Law West Jaiñtia Hills, president and secretary of the Synjuk Waheh Chnong Ri Lum Jaintia, president and secretary of the Synjuk Rangbah Chnong Jowai, two members each from the Jaiñtia Students Union, Jaiñtia Students Movement, Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People and Khasi Students Union, senior citizens like S.K. Lato, Chel Singh Langi, Damehiwot Pde, Philanderwel Lyngdoh, H. Toi and Dr Phervision Nongtdu to be part of it.
A meeting was held today at the Chutwakhu Indoor Sports Hall Jowai to discuss on the need to demand setting up of a national law school in the Jaiñtia Hills.
