‘Intezaar’ a highly anticipated cinematic masterpiece, which is set to shine a light on the harrowing reality of human trafficking in its many insidious forms, is set to be released in Khasi language.
Translated to ‘Nga dang iai ap’ the film marks a milestone as the first full-format Bollywood production to be released in the Khasi language, capturing the authenticity and cultural nuances of the region.
Prasenjit Mishra, Producer and Director said the film is slated for release in Hindi and Bengali, making its powerful message that reaches a wider audience across pan India.
The film delves deep into the dark and shadowy world that thrives at the expense of human lives, exposing the brutal and often overlooked facets of an issue that plagues societies worldwide, Mishra said. This groundbreaking cinematic exposé serves as a poignant call to action, urging audiences to confront the stark realities and complexities of human trafficking, he added.
The film unveils the gripping tale of those ensnared within the treacherous web of sexual slavery, commercial exploitation, organ trafficking, forced marriage, labour, and domestic servitude.
Filmed against the backdrop of the serene and picturesque campus of North-Eastern Hill University a press release also said that Vice-Chancellor Professor Prabha Shankar Shukla has expressed his delight at the collaboration with Black Screen Studios. “The powerful cinematic endeavour aligns with the university’s commitment to raising awareness about critical societal issues, and we are proud to be part of this important narrative,” he said.
The film is set to release in NEHU.
