Uplifter Club of Shillong, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, observed the International Day of Older Persons with the elderly residents of the Sister of Charity Mercy Home in Demthring here on October 1.
It was a short programme where members of the club, led by chief associate Panbor Kharbyngar and executive member Raplin Suting, paid a visit to the old age home and shared some lighter moments with the residents, who were around 35 in number.
Club members distributed food gifts to all the elderly residents and songs and prayers were also offered. Uplifter expressed thanks to the sisters who have taken care of the elderly residents.
