The East Jaiñtia Hills police arrested a man and seized 458 grams of heroin in the wee hours today.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Kuddus Laskar of Cachar in Assam.
Police said the person was travelling in a night super bus bearing registration number AS 01 FC 8299.
During a search 42 soap boxes that contain the contraband and a mobile phone was seized from his possession, police said.
A case under the NDPS case was registered and the accused has been detained for further necessary action.
