The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Meghalaya and Assam and Meghalaya on June 12 and June 13.
The IMD also predicted that isolated places in Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are likely to witness heavy rainfall during the next five days.
According to the IMD, the rains are expected to occur due to strong low-level Southerly and South Westerly winds from the Bay of Bengal to North East India during the next few days.
It also said that heavy to very heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds is very likely to occur across the North East region during the next five days.
Today, Khliehriat recorded 140 mm of rain followed by Pynursla (119.1 mm), Mawsynram (111.4 mm) and Sohra (106.4 mm).
