IIM Shillong welcomed the sixth batch of the Post Graduate Program for Working Executives (PGPWE 2025–27) and the seventh batch of the PhD Program for Working Professionals (PhDWP 2025) during a formal inauguration ceremony held on campus.
The 6th Batch of the PGPWE program witnessed a registration from 90 participants while 16 registered for the coveted doctoral program for working professionals.
ASSOCHAM Advisor Charan Singh while delivering his inaugural address as chief guest highlighted the critical role of hard work and vision in nation-building. “You are not here by accident — you are the custodians of the IIM legacy,” he stated. Emphasizing India’s rich heritage and future potential, he called on the new batch to lead with ambition, integrity, and purpose in propelling India toward global leadership.
Director in-charge Prof. Nalini Prava Tripathy welcomed the incoming participants with a message of purpose and empowerment. “This is not just a degree; it is a platform to amplify your potential,” she said. Highlighting the institute’s emphasis on rigorous, industry-relevant and future-focused education, she affirmed that the programs are designed to challenge and support experienced professionals as they grow into influential leaders.
Head of Alliances, Incubation, Research and Innovation at TCS Sridhar CV stated “There is no shortcut to hard work,” urging them to see their journey at IIM Shillong not just as an academic milestone, but as a foundation for lasting impact in business and society.
The immersion program for the new participants is being held on campus from May 26 to 30 offering an opportunity to engage with faculty, peers, and the broader IIM Shillong community.
