IIM Shillong will be holding the eighth International Conference on Sustainability (SUSCON) from today, with dialogue and deliberation on ‘holism, harmony and happiness’.
In this edition of SUSCON, IIM Shillong is going to collaborate with the Centre for Bhutan Studies & Gross National Happiness Research (CBS & GNH Research) as academic and intellectual partners for the conference. In addition, the European SPES (Spirituality and Ethics in Society) Institute also will be a collaborating partner.
This year, SUSCON is being held in a unique and integrated manner. IIM Shillong’s Foundation Module on Sustainability is being integrated with SUSCON in a manner where the young and fresh minds who got admitted to IIM Shillong from various parts of the country will be listening to and interacting with the distinguished speakers of the conference as a part of the course.
Given the prevailing Covid-19 scenario, the conference is going to be held in an online mode.
Academically, more than 135 papers have been submitted to the conference. Authors of selected submissions have been asked to present their work in two ways – either as a full paper (oral) presentation or as a poster presentation. A few selected papers may be considered for publication later.
The conference will run until July 30.
